Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model Kate Upton apparently risked her senses during the latest photo shoot for the magazineโ€™s much anticipated swimsuit issue.

During an interview with the Today Show on Tuesday, the model revealed that she was losing her hearing and eyesight because her body was shutting down.

โ€œI was very surprised by the news that thatโ€™s where my shoot was going to be located,โ€™โ€™ she said on TODAY Tuesday in her first interview since making the cover. โ€œIt was freezing. Iโ€™m from Florida, so it wasnโ€™t great for me. When I came back I was losing hearing and eyesight because my body was shutting down, it was working so hard to keep warm. I was thinking warm thoughts.โ€

But Upton isnโ€™t just any model, sheโ€™s the Earl Campbell of the supermodel world since she was just happy to get good shots.

โ€œI could really only do it for a minute and then everyone would come running and throw blankets on top of me and they would build me like a little blanket cave,โ€™โ€™ she said. โ€œI really went all out on this. We went there thinking we might not even get a shot, and came back with the cover.โ€
