Michigan State freshman long snapper Matt Giampapa has been suspended for the upcoming Outback Bowl against Georgia Mark Dantonio announced today.
Giampapa was apparently suspended for violation of team rules although no further details were released. Sophomore Steve Moore will reportedly handle the long snapping duties on January 2nd.
The Spartans also arrived in Florida today with Dantonio indicating that a player was left behind pending the resolution of an issue. The player was not identified however according to George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press, the player left behind isn’t believed to be one of MSU’s starters.
Sipple further wrote that wide receiver Bennie Fowler, who has battled foot injuries all season will not be available for the bowl game.
