Per New York Yankees’ manager Joe Girardi, shortstop Derek Jeter has fractured his ankle and his postseason is over. Girardi stated recovery time is likely going to take at least 3 months.
Jeter broke the ankle while diving for a ground ball in the 12th inning of the the Yankees’ loss to the Detroit Tigers, in game #1 of the American League Championship Series.
Earlier in the game, Jeter recorded his 200th career postseason hit, a Major League record.
