For the third consecutive Olympics, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh were on top of the Women’s beach volleyball world when they took gold in an all U.S. final.
The duo who has reached legendary status has never lost an Olympic match and continued that amazing streak by beating April Ross and Jennifer Kessy in straight sets—21-16, 21-16.
Misty May-Treanor will also go out on top as these Olympic games would be her last as she mentioned she’d like to move onto other things.
Kessy and Ross won the silver medal in their Olympic debut.
