According to Jon Heyman of SI.com’s Twitter, the Detroit Tigers have inquired on free agent third baseman Aramis Ramirez.

The Cubs third baseman was offered arbitration by the team however it’s more than likely that Ramirez will not be back with the Northsiders next season.

Going into the offseason Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski was looking to fill either the second or third base position with a marquee name. Aramis Ramirez who could get in upwards of three years and $42 million dollars would definitely fit that bill.
