According to a report from TMZ.com, former NFL linebacker Junior Seau was found dead in his home from what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The TMZ report goes on to say that the sent text messages to his ex-wife and 3 kids yesterday saying, “Love you.” Nothing was suspected of the text messages while it is believed that Seau last saw his kids about three weeks ago.
The 20-year NFL veteran and former first round selection in 1990 was an explosive linebacker right out of USC and rose to fame during his time with the San Diego Chargers. He also played with the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots before ultimately calling it career in 2009.
Back in 2010 it was suspected that Seau tried to commit suicide after driving his car off a cliff hours after being arrested for attacking his girlfriend. Seau denied the allegations of suicide saying he just fell asleep at the wheel.
