Flyers beat Penguins 8-4 after 6 goal, penalty filled first period

The battle of Pennsylvania got a little more vicious Sunday afternoon as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 8-4 to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best of the seven series.

The game though was once again highlighted by the abundance of penalties taken especially in the first period. In that period the Flyers would take a 4-2 lead into intermission but not before both teams combined for 18 total penalties and multiple fights.

You have to wonder though if Sydney Crosby has been warned about fighting after the concussions he’s dealt with so far in his career.

Finally Arron Asham will more than likely get a pretty nice suspension after his cheap shot to Philadelphia’s Brayden Schenn.
