Orange County SC Keeper Colin Shutler Okay After Scary Injury in Detroit

Orange County SC goalkeeper Colin Shutler appears to be okay after a frightening incident in Detroit on Saturday night that saw him stretchered off the field at Keyworth Stadium and transported to a local hospital.

The moment occurred late in the first half when Shutler was pushed from behind by Detroit City FC defender Devon Amoo-Mensah. The keeper immediately went to the ground and remained down for several minutes before being taken off by stretcher and transported by ambulance for evaluation.

No foul or card was issued on the play, and the referee sent both teams to their locker rooms early for halftime.

Orange County later confirmed that Shutler was “doing fine” after a few hours of observation at the hospital and has since begun his return trip home to Southern California.

Detroit went on to defeat Orange County 4-1, handing the visitors their third straight match without a win.
