On Michael Irvin’s YouTube channel, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he offered Micah Parsons a deal that would’ve made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. “Nobody’s offered him more money than me,” Jones said, blaming Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, for stalling the deal as the Sept. 4 Eagles game nears. “The agent told us to shove it,” he added. No talks have happened since Parsons’ Aug. 1 trade request, where he said Jones shifted their leadership talk to contracts.

Jones claims they agreed on terms, including “close to $200 million” in guarantees, topping Myles Garrett’s $123.5 million. Jones is fine letting Parsons play on his $21.324 million fifth-year option and maybe using franchise tags later, like with Dak Prescott.

Coach Schottenheimer’s confident Parsons will play the opener. “We’ve got three years to sort this,” Jones said. “If it doesn’t work, it’s costly for everyone.”
