It looks like Kobe Hernandez-Foster is once again on the move.

Within hours of being transferred from the Birmingham Legion to the Las Vegas Lights for Maliek Howell and an undisclosed fee, Detroit City FC has acquired Hernandez-Foster from Vegas while the Lights will retain his sell on clause.

The 23-year-old left back/forward has appeared in 36 matches for the Legion last year scoring three goals and while tallying six assists. This season so far Hernandez-Foster has appeared in 18 matches securing one assist.

Hernandez-Foster began his youth career with the LA Galaxy U16/17 back in 2017-18 before heading to Europe to play with Wolfsburg’s U19 squad before ultimately finding his way back the the LA Galaxy U17s.

Hernandez-Foster would stick with the Galaxy system to begin his senior career with the Galaxy II while they were still in the USL Championship. He would then once again head to Europe to play for Hamarkameratene in Norway from 2022-2023 before returning to the United States prior to last season when he signed on with the Legion.

According to sources, acquiring Hernandez-Foster has been something Detroit City FC has been working on for sometime now so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s able to turn provide a much needed spark to a DCFC side who have been struggling on the pitch since the beginning of May.
