It was brilliance over resiliency Monday night as the Kentucky Wildcats proved once and for all they are the best team in the land.

It was Kentucky’s dominance and brilliance the trumped Kansas’ resiliency and propelled them to a 67-59 victory in the title game from New Orleans.

Anthony Davis, who became only the fourth freshman to win the Men’s Final Four Most Outstanding Player Award was only 1 for 10 from the field yet still had an outstanding performance. Davis made headway on the stat sheet with 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, 5 assists, and 3 steals to go with 6 points. He was also involved in key play after key play including a steal from Thomas Robinson following a rebound and forcing Elijah Johnson to travel in the final seconds of the game.

Kentucky held a double-digit lead over the Jayhawks for most of the game. Kansas was able to get a late surge cutting the Wildcat lead down to five with about a minute and a half left in the second.

The Wildcats though were able to stave off the comeback and earn the victory.
