Detroit City FC

One big news item from Detroit City FCโ€™s monthly ownership meeting Wednesday night was that 28-year-old midfielder Rhys Williams was extended through the 2025 season.

Williams, a native of White Plains, originally came to City back in 2022 ahead of DCFCโ€™s inaugural USL Championship season. Notably, Williams was also part of the 2021 Stumptown squad that ended Detroitโ€™s undefeated season and was part of a contingent of โ€œNISA All-Starsโ€ that was brought up to USL by current Detroit City sporting director Trevor James.

In 2023 Williams tallied two assists while securing a regular spot in the starting eleven having started in 29 of 35 matches.
