The Detroit Red Wings won their 21st straight home game Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars setting a new NHL record for consecutive home wins.
The previous record was originally set by the Boston Bruins during the 1929-30 season, and matched by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1976.
With the fans chanting “21!, 21!” and the clock hitting all zero’s the Wings skated to center ice to salute their fans and give acknowledgement to how big of a part the Joe Louis Arena crowd played in this amazing streak.
