Unfortunately for Inge haters, and there’s plenty of them, the Tigers confirmed Tuesday night that longtime third baseman Brandon Inge will rejoin the team. This is expected to come at the very latest on September 1st when teams are allowed to expand their rosters.

According to an Associated Press article released earlier on Tuesday, Inge said that the Tigers reassured him that he would be called up then.

Inge entered action Tuesday night hitting .297 (22-for-74) with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 19 games with the Mud Hens. Prior to be sent down he was only hitting .177 with one home run and 17 RBIs in 70 games.

The Tigers designated the contract of Brandon Inge in July after acquiring third baseman Wilson Betemit from the Kansas City Royals.
