Tonightโ€™s NCAA Tournament game between No. 7 Oregon and No. 10 VCU has been canceled and declared a no-contest after someone from the Rams came back with a positive COVID-19 test.

Oregon will move on to the next round to take on either No. 15 Grand Canyon or No. 2 Iowa.

The NCAA also released the following statement:

โ€œThe NCAA Division I Menโ€™s Basketball Committee has declared the VCU-Oregon game scheduled for Saturday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum a no-contest because of COVID-19 protocols. This decision was made in consultation with the Marion County Public Health Department. As a result, Oregon will advance to the next round of the tournament. The NCAA and the committee regret that VCUโ€™s student-athletes and coaching staff will not be able to play in a tournament in which they earned the right to participate. Because of privacy issues we cannot provide further details.โ€

This is the first cancelation thus far in the Tournament after each of the 72 teams were all initially cleared to play prior to Thursday nightโ€™s games.
