WORLD SERIES: RANGERS EVEN THINGS UP

Adam Hernandez by Adam Hernandez

in MLB, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers

It appears as thought the Cardinals bullpen is human after all.

St. Louis was cruising to a Game 2 victory, ready to go up in the series 2 games to none as starter Jaime Garcia threw 7 shutout innings. The Cardinals especially seemed primed to score another victory after Allen Craig had another clutch RBI single to put St. Louis up 1-0 after eight innings.

However, St. Louis closer Jason Motte who had previously allowed only one hit the entire postseason gave up two runs in the 9th as the Rangers were able to pull off the 2-1 victory knotting up the series 1-1.

Both Rangers’ runs came off sacrifice flies when Josh Hamilton was able to score Ian Kinsler and Michael Young was able to score Elvis Andrus.

In the bottom of the 9th, Rangers closer Neftali Feliz allowed a leadoff walk to Molina but then retired the next three Cardinals to close out the victory for the Rangers.
