The Jacob Turner reunion with the Tigers didn’t last long. Friday the Tigers DFA’d their former top prospect after a short lived stint with the big league club after the team announced the signing of former Cleveland reliever Zach McAllister.
The Detroit Tigers announced today that they have agreed to terms on a Major League contract with RHP Zach McAllister. To make room for McAllister on the 40-man roster, the Tigers have designated RHP Jacob Turner for assignment.

McAllister was DFA’d himself by the Tribe today to make room for another former Tigers Andrew Miller who was returning from injury.
So far this season, McAllister was 1-2 with a 4.97 ERA in 41 appearances with his strikeouts per nine innings falling to 7.3 after previously seeing a number at 9.3 and 9.6 in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
