There was no doubt that Michigan State was a tremendous underachiever in 2010. Plus not only that, they treaded in unfamiliar territory as they suffered from a low offensive rebounding percentage.
In 2011 players like Adreian Payne and Derrick Nix could help turn that percentage around, however Spartan head coach Tom Izzo may rely on the incoming batch of freshman.
One incoming freshman that could have big impact on the Spartan rebounding percentage is 6-6 forward Brandon Dawson who may be the best rebounder in the 2011 class.
It is definitely understandable that nothing is certain when it comes to incoming freshman however there is a good chance that Dawson is highly ranked in both offensive and defensive rebounding percentages.
Now it’s because of his rebounding capabilities that Dawson may find significant playing time in 2011. Of course this will all depend on how he performs in the fall workouts.
