The Big Ten title game is now within site for the Spartans.

Saturday afternoon, the Spartans put themselves further in the driver’s seat as Michigan State blows out Iowa 37-21, winning for the first time at Kinnick since 1989.

Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins also finally delivered on the road throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns in the wins. In addition to Cousins’ performance, the MSU senior class becomes the winningest senior class in school history with 34 wins.

Unlike last year’s game in which Michigan State was down 30-0 at the half, the Spartans took a commanding 31-7 lead into the half this year behind two touchdowns in a 36 second stretch in the second quarter. After Le’Veon Bell’s 25 yard touchdown run, B.J. Cunningham capped off the first half with a 27 yard touchdown reception to put the Spartans up by 24 at the break.

Even though Nebraska pulled out a win against Penn State in Happy Valley, Michigan State can secure a Big Ten title game berth with wins over Indiana and Northwestern in the next two weeks.
