Wednesday it was announced that the Big Ten and Pac-12 would extend their inter-conference scheduling, cross-promote on their respective television networks and even set up academic and cultural exchanges.
Now this is obviously great news for both conferences, especially from the Big Ten perspective and you don’t have to look any further than 2012 offensive line prospect Joshua Garnett (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup).
“It would make it easier for a prospect to go to a Big Ten school from out West because you’d know you would come home,” Garnett said. “It’d be easier for friends and family to come see you, and it would also show you really what conference is stronger. Seeing the teams go heads up you could tell who was better.”
But specifically what does this mean to Michigan?
Brady Hoke has already established good ties on the west coast given that he came from San Diego State. This also give the rest of the coaching staff though the opportunity to showcase the team first hand to a lot of potential prospects in Pac-12 states.
