Michigan senior David Molk is going out on top at his position.

Thursday night Molk was named the Remmington Award winner as the nation’s top center beating out Clemson’s Dalton Freeman, Oklahoma State’s Grant Garner, Georgia’s Ben Jones, Wisconsin’s Peter Konz and Alabama’s William Vlachos.

“I am truly humbled to be the Rimington Trophy recipient,” Molk said in a statement released through the school. “It’s such an honor, considering all of the great centers around the country, including the other finalists. It’s an individual award, but it’s a credit to our offensive line, our team and our coaching staff. I’m proud to represent the University of Michigan.”

Molk, a fifth year senior from Lemont, Ill has played for three different coaches during his time at Michigan which is a first for a Wolverine player since 1920.

The Remmington Award isn’t the only honor the 6-foot-2, 286 pounds center is taking home though. Last week, Molk was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Lineman of the Year.
