Although he hasn’t spoken to him yet, Tigers right fielder Magglio Ordonez did have some comments on his friend getting arrested Wednesday night for resisting arrest and DUI.

Here is what he had to say according to Steve Kornacki of Mlive.com.

“Like everyone knows, he made a mistake and you are not supposed to drive drunk on the road,” Ordonez said after working out Friday. “He will have to pay the consequences.

“Miguel’s the franchise player. He understands (the team) depends on him a lot. He’s a superstar and needs to act like a superstar.”

“He’s a great guy and a great teammate,” Ordonez said. “Hopefully, he gets his stuff together and is ready to play baseball.”

The full squad was required to report to Lakeland Friday however Cabrera hasn’t done so yet. Ordonez says he hopes to see Cabrera Saturday and talk to him then.
