After the Golden State Warriorsโ€˜ 132-127 loss to the Houston Rockets Thursday night, Charles Barkley went on a little mini-rant talking about how heโ€™s โ€œold schoolโ€ and that he didnโ€™t like that brand of โ€œgirly basketballโ€ which I guess was the reason according to Barkley the Warriors lost?

Hereโ€™s the clip below:

Whatever, whether or not Barkleyโ€™s notions assuming as to why Golden State lost isnโ€™t the point here. Not at least for ESPNโ€™s Rachel Nichols who took issue with Sir Charlesโ€™ comments.

Hereโ€™s her rebuttal:

Off-hand, Barkleyโ€™s initial statement about โ€œgirlyโ€ basketball wasnโ€™t horrific. It was just plain stupid which isnโ€™t any kind of foreign territory to the Round Mound of Rebound himself. It was the follow up comments that really give you pause, especially if youโ€™re a girl looking to get ahead in what is still a male dominated society.

Unfortunately it seems like the World has changed a lot in the past year and a half where as stuff like this is easier to brush aside while anyone who speaks out against it is labeled as some โ€œcrazy feministโ€ or โ€œPC lib tardโ€ who gets their feelings hurt too easily. Never mind the fact that itโ€™s just something stupid that shouldnโ€™t have been said in the first place.
