That Colin Kaepernick silent protest of the U.S. National Anthem doesn’t seem to be hurting his jersey sales.
According to the NFL.com (by way of ABC News) the 49ers quarterback – who was named to the 53 man roster – is now fifth amongst jersey sales in the League after coming in eighth just a few days ago. Not only that, San Jose Mercury News reporter Mike Rosenberg tweeted Kaepernick is now first amongst jersey sales on the 49ers after previously coming in at 20th.

Kaepernick’s protest against racism and corruption within the police force has in large part drawn the ire of fans at games for what some would say his generalizations and lack of respect when it comes to the National Anthem.
Needless to say I guess it’s somewhat surprising to to see his jersey doing as well as it has. Aside from the boos, fans opposed to Kaepernick’s protest have taken to social media to burn his jersey if effigy.
Then again fans tend to gravitate towards guys making headlines and when you boil it down, what Kaepernick is actually saying about racial injustice and poorly treated veterans is something a lot of Americans can agree with.
