The Duquesne men’s basketball team has found themselves trapped on the Pennsylvania turnpike.

After a 86-75 victory over George Mason Friday afternoon, Duquesne attempted to make their way back to Pittsburgh from Fairfax, Virginia but were unfortunately caught up by the Blizzard ravaging the East Coast.

The team reportedly left Virginia around 4:30PM having their game moved up earlier in the day on Friday in hopes of avoiding something like this. Obviously though the game didn’t get moved up early enough.

To try and get themselves going, the team even tweeted out a poll on who should push the bus. Sorry walk ons, it looks like it’s your time to shine.

Either way it looks like the team is trying to make the best of the situation.

It also sounds like battling the elements on a bus is nothing compared to what some other guys on the team have had to deal with. (via ESPN and For The Win)

“Guys have their electronics (our bus has been idling, so we have heat and power) … Leftover pizza … And a few Gatorades … Honestly, we’ve had two people on this bus who have beaten cancer in the past two years (Derrick Colter and John Rhodes) … I think our guys can handle this”

Here’s hoping though the team gets back to Pittsburgh safely. The storm has already reportedly claimed 10 lives in it’s path and could continue to batter the East for the rest of the day Saturday.
