Chris Christie angered by fantasy football question at last night’s GOP debate

New Jersey governor and GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie had another one of those outburst moments during last night’s GOP debate after Jeb Bush was asked if daily fantasy sports is gambling. Bush, didn’t seem to take offense to the question after mentioning his team is 7-0 because of Rob Gronkowski and Ryan Tannehill however Christie quickly weighed in.

“Are we really talking about getting the government involved in fantasy football?” he asked John Harwood, one of CNBC’s widely panned commentators. “We have $19 trillion in debt, we have people out of work, we have ISIS and Al Qaeda attacking us and we’re talking about fantasy football? Can we stop? How about this? How about we get the government to do what they’re supposed to be doing. Secure our borders, protect our people and support American values and American families. Enough on fantasy football. People play, who cares?”

Sure, it’s a GOP debate where not much substance has ever been discussed so far this political season, however maybe Christie’s more upset at the notion of talking any type of football since his beloved Dallas Cowboys are 2-4 and in last place in the NFC East? Or maybe he doesn’t have the benefit of trotting out Gronk and Ryan Tannehill on a weekly basis for his fantasy team? We know you play Governor, own up to it!
