The shortest player on the U.S. Women’s teams undoubtedly had the best up’s Friday night.
With the score knotted at zero late in the second half, the 5-2 Meghan Klingenberg came up with a header at the goal line that rattled off the U.S. cross bar and out of the back of the net. It was the save of the night and set the American’s up to advance to the round of 16 with a win or draw against Nigeria Tuesday. However the USWNT will probably still advance even with a loss.
Currently the U.S. leads their division with four points, Australia trails with three points, followed by Sweden with two and Nigeria with one.
