Ok this man made his debut when I was just 10 years old. And he is still pitching at the age of 42. Plus he is still throwing in the 90’s on a regular basis. It’s kind of crazy to see someone still pitching like this in their 40’s.

In his 19 year career, he is averaging 16 wins and 11 losses with an ERA of 3.97, averaging 200 plus innings a season. When you look at it, between 2006-2010 he just pitched in 48 games and he didn’t even play in the 2010 season.

Its the 2015 season and at the age of 42, the New York Mets are pretty happy with what their seeing from Colon, eight wins and three losses on the season. But with a four plus ERA, he is winning for them. We all feel that the best part of watching Bartolo this season is, watching him swing the bat. It’s been interesting but very good entertainment.

I stopped being a village boy, thinking I can throw any stone, any rock, through a wall, and started thinking I could be a guy who could last longer by taking something off my fastball and not depending on only throwing hard.” -Bartolo Colon
