Let the controversy begin as Alex Rodriguez hit his 660th home run tonight against the Boston Red Sox to tie Willie Mays at 4th overall on the all-time list. Obviously you’d think that this would be a momentous occasion for A-Rod and the Bombers when you consider Rodriguez’s march towards history. However this will further cause a bigger rift between A-Rod and the Yankees considering the organization has already publicly stated they wouldn’t pay Rodriguez the bonus originally written into his contract for tying Mays’ record.

The tension between the Yanks and A-Rod stem from his use of performance enhancing drugs according to New York however you’d figure this is heading for collision course between the Players Association and the Yankees organization.
