The Providence College men’s hockey team won a 4-3 stunning upset over Boston University in the conclusion of the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament Saturday night.
The win came thanks in part to Terrior goaltender Matt O’Connor mishandling the puck on a Providence College dump in that somehow found the back of the net tying the game at 3 with just over 8 minutes left in the third.
Unfortunately for Boston University that provided Providence College with all the momentum they needed as Brandon Tanev scored just two minutes later to give the Friars a 4-3 lead and eventually the win.

Needless to say it was a bad night to be a Boston Hockey fan. First the Bruins get eliminated from playoff contention and now this.
