Thursday morning, Bill Belichick faced reporters in response to ‘deflate-gate’ which as really become one of the more ridiculous controversies the NFL has seen in quite some time. Unsurprisingly though Belichick, who albeit is no stranger to controversy and manipulating the rules, said he was “shocked” to learn of the deflated balls and had “no explanation for what happened”, a line that’s sure to be trending on Twitter anytime now.

“I was shocked to learn of the news reports of the footballs, I had no knowledge of this whatsoever until Monday morning,” Belichick told the media mob. “I have no explanation for what happened. I’ve never touched a game ball. In my entire coaching career, I have never talked to any player, staff member about football air pressure. That is not a subject that I have ever brought up.”
Belichick also hinted that Tom Brady might have a better handle on the situation:
“Tom’s personal preferences on his footballs are something he can talk about in much better detail than I could possibly provide,”
So if you thought this was over, guess again. We have presser No. 2 with Mr. Brady coming up at around 4PM ET today.
