Fireworks erupted on the NBA trade front Monday evening as Yahoo! Sportsโ€™ Adrian Wojnarowski reported a three-way trade (thatโ€™s still evolving) involving J.R. Smith and Dion Waiters. According to Wojnarowski, as Waiters was being pulled from the Cavsโ€™ starting lineup against the 76ers, Smith was reportedly on his way to Cleveland along with wing-man Iman Shumpert from the New York Knicks.

For the Thunder, OKC will receive Waiters from the Cavs in exchange for a protected first round draft pick

Finally the Knicks get guard Lance Thomas from the Thunder as well as rookie center Alex Kirk, forward Lou Amundson and a 2019 second-round pick from the Cavs. The Knicks though looking to dump salary reportedly will waive all three players as they look to unload $6.4M still owed to Smith. Additionally the Knicks are also expected to waive Samuel Dalembert whose contract is set to be fully guaranteed if heโ€™s still on the roster come Wednesday.
