U.S. women settle for silver after 3-2 OT loss to Canada

Canada erased a two goal deficit with less than 3:30 left in the third to beat the United States 3-2 in overtime to win the gold medal.

This is Canada’s fourth straight Olympic gold medal with Marie-Philip Poulin serving as the hero with her game tying goal late in the third and the game winner in OT.

Meanwhile the loss is tremendously heartbreaking for the U.S. who was this close to winning gold for the first time since 1998 in Nagano.

The United States gets a chance at redemption tomorrow (of sorts) when the U.S. takes on Canada in the men’s semi finals.
