T.J. Oshie helps put the US over Russia 3-2 in the shootout

T.J. Oshie scored four goals in the shootout to help the United States defeat Russia 3-2 in the Group A stage game from Sochi.

Oshie took six of the eight US attempts, scoring four times twice of which he beat Sergei Bobrovsky five hole (including the game winner) in the win. The United States also caught a huge break during regulation when it appeared Russia went ahead 3-2 in the third when Fydor Tyutin beat Jonathan Quick top shelf late in the third. However a second look by the refs showed that the net came off the magnets and the goal was waived off.

Other than that Jonathan Quick was amazing yet again in goal for the United States making save after save with Russia applying tremendous pressure during the final 20 minutes of play.

Pavel Datsyuk had both Russia goals including one during the shootout.
