SUPER BOWL: Seattle routs Denver 43-8 for first Super Bowl title

So as it turns out the Manny Ramirez botched snap in the beginning of the game was a sign of things to come for the Broncos.

Twelve-seconds into Super Bowl XLVIII the Seattle Seahawks got themselves on the board for a two-point safety and never looked back as they routed Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 43-8. The win gives Seattle their first Super Bowl title in franchise history after coming up short to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL in Detroit.

But when it comes to the Broncos, to say it was a bad night is a huge understatement.

Aside from the safety to open the game, they also became the first team in Super Bowl history to go without a first down in the first quarter. Not to mention Denver’s 35-point deficit at the end of the game was also the third largest in the big game’s history. And this isn’t even considering the Broncos allowing a Percy Harvin touchdown on the opening kickoff of the second half… ironically 12 seconds in.

Even if they weren’t playing in Seattle I guess you can safely say the 12th man for the Seahawks was at MetLife in spirit.

Manning finished 34-49 for 280 yards, 1 TD and 2 interceptions one of which went the other way for six points.
