With Sam Bradford out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL and the ability to hear crickets at Rams home games (they’re second to last in attendance), St. Louis gave 44-year old Brett Favre a call according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
St. Louis called Brett Favre, asking if the 44-year-old QB if he would be willing to play. Favre declined. More to story on ESPN all day.

Favre though declined the offer to return more than likely for a couple of reasons one he’s 44-years old and probably using an Amigo at this point and two the Rams are 3-4 and have essentially zero shot at the playoffs.
This attempted move by the Rams though may be more telling of current state of NFL quarterbacks in the league. Is a guy who’s 6 years away from AARP eligibility really better than backup Kellen Clemens or free agents Brady Quinn and, *cough cough* Tim Tebow. Nonetheless St. Louis is obviously desperate but perhaps more so for someone that can help them put fans in the seats.
