Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Detroit Lions have scheduled an interview with Seattle Seahawks Co-Director of Player Personnel Trent Kirchner.

According to Kirchner’s LinkedIn profile, He is a 2000 graduate of Saint John’s University and has spent the past 15 years in various roles in NFL front offices. He’s spent time with the Seahawks, Panthers, and Redskins as a scout or personnel executive.
Kirchner previously interviewed with the New York Jets in 2015. Kirchner didn’t get the job, which instead went to Mike Maccagnan.
The Detroit Lions are looking to replace General Manager Martin Mayhew after he was fired mid-season. The Detroit Lions went 6-2 after his firing under interm General Manager Sheldon White after starting the season 1-7.
Kirchner’s name is always brought up in discussions as a future general manager, which means his services might be highly coveted. The Detroit Lions will have to act fast if they wish to make Kerchner their lead football executive.
