2013 football recruit Laquon Treadwell could land in Michigan

Michigan football head coach Brady Hoke has been on a recruiting frenzy ever since he landed in Ann Arbor this past Winter and with Michigan’s season opener Saturday, news continues to come out regarding possible recruits heading to Michigan.

The latest is Crete-Monee (Ill.) wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who is reportedly interested in attending the University of Michigan in 2013. This is according to Kyle Warber of Mlive.com.

While he was watching and learning from teammate Standifer, the Wolverines coaching staff was watching him. Brady Hoke liked what he saw enough to invite Treadwell to the Wolverines’ BBQ at the Big House. Players were only invited to the event if Michigan had serious interest in them.

Out of all the staff Treadwell met, Brady Hoke made the biggest impression on him. He described Hoke’s “desire to win” as standing out the most.

“My impression of the Michigan coaching staff is they’re great coaches especially Coach Hoke,” Treadwell said. “They are very out going and just love to have a good time and win. They are going to win a lot of games at Michigan.”

The Standifer that Warber is discussing is 2012 verbal commitment Anthony Standifer who is a high school teammate of Treadwill.

Michigan’s interest in Treadwill will be at the wide receiver position. Last season he compiled 58 catches, 811 yards and seven touchdowns on offense.
