- Jurickson Profar – INF Texas RangersBlocked by two highly talent players ahead of him in the bigs, Profar has the talent to displace one of them, Elvis Andurs, who is an All Star in his own right. The Rangers aren’t quite the offensive Juggernaut as in the past, and may need Profar to step up to the plate right away.
- Dylan Bundy – RHP Baltimore OriolesThe next great arm of this generation. Should have been starting games for the Orioles last season, but the organization wanted to really limit his innings. Has the whole art of pitching figured out at 2o years old, which is something very special. Many say that Justin Verlander will be the last 300 game winner ever, but I contend that Bundy will have the same chance at that if he stays healthy, which it is to early in his career to say how that will turn out.
- Will Myers – OF Tampa Bay RaysOne of those power hitters that could challenge for home run records in the not so distant future. Myers is also stuck in AAA for financial reasons, will come up in June or July and tear the cover off the ball.
- Shelby Miller – RHP St. Louis CardinalsSet to take Kyle Lohse’s spot in the rotation, this 22 year old right handed power pitcher will be huge for the Cards, as the look to keep their playoff streak going. Even though the Cardinals let Lohse walk and Chris Carpenter will miss the season with injury, the Cardinals aren’t worried because they have this guy ready to roll.
- Billy Hamilton – SS/OF Cincinnati RedsRoadrunner. That is the only way to adequately describe this stolen base king. Just trying to develop the plate discipline to be consistent in the majors, will set the majors on fire soon. He’s stolen 320 bases in 397 minor league games.
- Gerrit Cole – RHP Pittsburgh PiratesReceiving the highest fastball rating by multiple scouting organizations, Cole is set to take over the front end of the Pirates rotation for years to come. He should start on opening day, but for financial reasons, won’t take off until June or July. He’s a very exciting arm that Pirates fans can get excited about.
- Travis d’Arnaud – C New York MetsIs one of those catchers who can flat out rake but will leave something to be desired defensively. Has had some issue with injuries over the last few years, but has the light tower power to make you overlook all the negatives. The Mets won’t be very good this year, and with the New York media behind him, could make a very public impact int he bigs this year.
- Trevor Rosenthal – RHP St. Louis CardinalsAbsolute flame thrower who made a splash for the Cardinals at the end of the season. There is still some debate on whether to make him a starter and reliever, but could be a dominate back end of a game power arm. He might get a chance to close some games early in the year with Closer Jason Motte out with an injury.
- Adam Eaton – OF Arizona DiamondbacksWas supposed to start the year off as the center fielder and leadoff hitter for the Diamondbacks, until a recent elbow injury has him sidelined for at least 2 months. He can absolutely fly around the diamond, and will hit for excellent contact.
- Aaron Hicks – OF Minnesota TwinsHicks should turn into an above average hitting center fielder and and very good defender. It was just announced that he won the starting CF job for the Twins, to almost everyone’s surprise. The Twins won’t be competitive in the AL Central, they just don’t have the pitching. The move is puzzling because the consencius move was to start him in AAA to delay is arbitration clock, especially because he plays for the budget conscious organization.
