On the cover of this week’s ‘What the Fuck are you thinking?!’ will be the above image announcing that the Angels have hired Brad Ausmus as the team’s new manager…

And if you think I’m overreacting I’m not. Ausmus has a managerial record of 312-332 all coming with the Detroit Tigers between 2013-2017 which doesn’t nearly highlight how truly fucking awful he was in Motown. In those four seasons with the Detroit he managed to make the postseason his first year while having a lineup that included 2014 versions of Miguel Cabrera, Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez as well as J.D. Martinez and a staff rotation of Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, David Price and Rick Porcello. However that team skippered by Ausmus in the postseason was unable to get by the Baltimore Orioles who were without Chris Davis and Manny Machado. In fact, the Tigers were swept in three games.
After 2014 the Tigers didn’t make the postseason again in the Ausmus tenure and are currently in a massive rebuild.
So… I’m assuming we can see much of the same with that bullshit as the Angels continue to waste the years of quite possibly the best all-around player to ever take the field in Mike Trout.
