The NBA offseason just got better as yet another blockbuster just went down.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026 and a pick swap in 2021 and 2025.

Wojnarowski also confirmed that Westbrook, who reunites with James Harden got his wish and landed with the Rockets which was his ‘prefered destination’.

The deal to works out for Harden who simply didn’t mesh with Paul as CP3 demanded more picks and ball movement while the Beard works best in isolation. Presuming Westbrook knows what he’s getting himself into again the floor chemistry in Houston should be much better.

As for the Thunder, they seem excited to have Paul in the mix whereas which the feeling more than likely isn’t mutual given the veterans desire to play for a contender. Meanwhile, flipping CP3 will certainly be an option for OKC who are in an obvious rebuild, finding partners for his three years, $124 million on his contract will probably prove to be the Thunder front office’s biggest challenge yet.

Nonetheless, the Thunder have a shit ton of picks stockpiled as noted by Woj below…
