🔄 The Pistons and Suns are contemplating a Luke Kennard trade

The Pistons and Suns seem to be having ongoing discussions on a deal surrounding Pistons guard Luke Kennard according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Woj continued by stating the talks have gained traction but no deal was imminent.

Two days ahead of the trade deadline it seems clear the Pistons are itching to get something done despite their lack of assets. Kennard marks one of the few — this season at least — but along with that comes the questions as to why especially when factoring in who could be coming back in a deal from Phoenix.

Woj states the Pistons are intrigued by obtaining a first-round pick which is great and all but at the expense of a guy who Detroit just drafted — in the first round — back in 2017 who happens to be panning out?

Right now according to Woj, the Pistons and Suns in addition to that first-round pick but also Jevon Carter and Elie Okobo, two guys who have averaged less than 10 points this season — combined.

Not to mention the value on Kennard right now could be better factoring in he’s missed the last 22-games with bilateral knee tendinitis and isn’t expected back until later on in February. I mean you could see why the Suns would have interest in a guy like Kennard, especially for that package. It’s an absolute steal for Phoenix.
