Detroit’s professional soccer team now has a television home.
TV20 Detroit announced today that they will broadcast a number of Detroit City FC games this upcoming season as the club jumps to the pro ranks with the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), officially third in the pyramid for U.S. professional soccer.
The first television broadcast will take place on March 21 for the Men’s home opener against the Oakland Roots from the historic Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, a place Le Rouge has called home for the past five seasons.

“Soccer is a growing sport and a favorite of so many families in the communities we serve,” WXYZ and WMYD Vice President & General Manager Mike Murri said. “We’re proud to partner with the Detroit City Football Club to bring this exciting sport to Detroit area viewers. The Detroit City Football Club has a passionate following in metro Detroit and we’re happy to help grow this great sport through expanded television coverage.”
”It’s the perfect next step for our first full professional season, and TV20 Detroit is a great partner that is also focused on serving everyone in our community,” DCFC co-owner Alex Wright added. “Be it at Keyworth Stadium or in the comforts of home, we want DCFC to be the most accessible pro sports team in town. It feels great to know that Detroit City FC broadcasts will be available to anyone in our area with a TV set.”
It’s assumed that Neal Ruhl will continue his broadcast duties with the team as prior to this season home games could only be caught on the Club’s YouTube channel.
It gets better though, in addition to the men, the DCFC women will also get their rightful share of broadcast love as TV20 made mention that the network would broadcast a total of 12 men’s and women’s home matches this spring.
The DCFC women’s team will embark on their first season in 2020 after the historic announcement was made in 2019. And in addition to the men’s side, the women will also play at Keyworth as part of United Women’s Soccer.
Their schedule is TBD.
Meanwhile here are some of the men’s dates that can be caught on TV20 in case you can’t make it down to Keyworth:

- Saturday, April 11 vs. Chattanooga FC at 3 p.m.
- Saturday, May 30 vs. California United at 7:30 p.m.
