Detroit City FC is bringing back a familiar face as the club has announced that Matt Lewis has been signed to a deal heading into the spring season pending approval from NISA and the USSF.
Lewis, who played a single game for Le Rouge back in 2020 while on loan from the New York Cosmos scored DCFC’s first professional goal against the LA Force in February of last year.
And given the uncertainty surrounding the Cosmos, the door opened up for Lewis to make his return to Detroit who’ll be busy this season competing in the Legends Cup which will begin in mid-April, the NISA spring season set to begin play on May 1, and the U.S. Open Cup which is scheduled to begin sometime in May.
