The 2014 World Series will feature two teams to make from the Wild Card Game as the San Francisco Giants defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 in five games last night.

The dramatics though continued as San Francisco earned the right to play the Royals in the Fall Classic after Travis Ishikawa’s walk-off three run blast to right field gave the the Giants the NL pennant and a chance to win their second Championship title in the last four years.

PITCHER IP H R ER BB K
Adam Wainwright 7 4 2 2 2 7
Madison Bumgarner 8 5 3 3 2 5

What may be even more remarkable is the fact that Ishikawa only had two home runs the entire regular season but has been playing left field for the Giants most of the postseason.

I guess the World Series could very well give us more of the unexpected.
