Edmonton Oilers star forward Taylor Hall suffered a gruesome injury Tuesday night prior to his team’s matchup with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

During pregame warmps, Hall fell on the ice taking out teammate Ladislav Smid. As the two slid into the boards another Corey Potter had only seconds to react in which he tried to jump over both guys laying on the ice to avoid a collision. However, Potter ended up coming down on Hall’s face skate first leaving a pretty nasty gash on Hall as well as a black eye.

Hall didn’t go to a hospital and was stitched up in the locker room by a plastic surgeon on site. He didn’t play in the game.
