Canelo

Boxing hasn’t had a good run as of late. Aside from the Mayweather/McGregor bout that seemingly lived up to the height, the sport has largely been gripped with underwhelming match-ups or controversy surrounding what’s left of the main draws. We shaw this earlier in the year between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn when judges favored the Australian boxer Horn in a bout that for the most part should have been one-sided in favor of Pacquiao.

Questionable judging was a factor yet again last night in the much anticipated Gennady Golokin-Canelo Alvarez fight which ended in a draw. Sure no one lost, however judge Adelaide Byrd scored it 118-110 for Canelo in a fight many thought should have outright went to GGG. Because of this we saw a draw which ultimately had GGG retain his middleweight title belts with a record of 37-0-1 but also set up a rematch between the two fighters.

That’s were Twitter went off at the probably fix in a sport that already had a cloud of suspicion hanging over it.
