Twins manager Paul Molitor and the rest of the Minnesota dugout had their feelings hurt after Indians second baseman Jose Ramirez had the nerve to admire his 8th career home run Wednesday night. In fact Molitor was so indignant that Ramirez would have gall to stand and praise himself in the batters box that the first year skipper was yelling at Ramirez to ‘get the f*ck of the field’ as he was rounding the bases.

Sure it was a 7-1 game in the bottom of the 8th prior to the home run but all this goes without mentioning Molitor walking the batter in front of Ramirez to get to him in the order.

You can also understand the Twins already being a little on edge since dropping the game two of a double-header won’t help their postseason chances much. However it appears Minnesota is about to get full on stupid with the retaliation. At least that’s how Ricky Nolasco (who gave up the home run to Ramirez) made it seem after the game.

Currently the Twins are 1.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot in the American League with four games to go. It’ll be interesting to see if Molitor and company are actually dumb enough to throw at Ramirez, risk any suspension and give a guy a free pass in the middle of a pennant race. All for the perceived disrespect of baseball’s comedic ‘unwritten rules’.
