Tight end Aaron Hernandez and quite an eventful Thursday. First he was finally arrested in the murder investigation surrounding 27-year old Odin Lloyd and in turn released by the Patriots less than two hours later. Then at around 2PM ET a judge announced that Hernandez would be booked on six counts one being murder and the rest being related gun charges.

At 2PM ET today a judge denied bail for the former Patriots tight end citing the evidence surrounding the case and the flight risk he potentially presents.

Some of that evidence that the judge may be taken into account is as follows:

  • Hernandez’s possible involvement in gang activity stretching all the way back to his days at Florida.
  • Hernandez being sued for allegedly shooting a man in the face in Florida. The man survived but lost an eye.
  • Hernandez destroying his cell phone, home surveillance equipment and hiring a cleaning crew to scrub down his house before police searched it.
  • Text messages sent from Odin Lloyd to his sister suggesting Lloyd was with Hernandez the night he was killed.
  • Hernandez carrying a gun in some recovered video surveillance saying ‘you can’t trust anyone anymore’ again on the night Lloyd was murdered.
  • Prosecutors suggesting the caliber bullet taken out of Lloyd matching up with the gun Hernandez had in the video. It was also determined that Lloyd was killed execution style.
  • Keys that were found on Lloyd’s body going to an SUV rented in Aaron Hernandez’s name.

Thursday though a possible motive was uncovered that sheds an even more disturbing light on the situation. According to sources cited by the Boston Globe, Hernandez is now being investigated for a double murder that occurred last July in South Boston something that Lloyd may have had some information on.

The officials said investigators now believe that Odin Lloyd, the man Hernandez is charged with killing in a North Attleboro industrial park June 17, may have had information about Hernandez’s role in the double slaying.

“The motive might have been that the victim knew [Hernandez] might have been involved,” one of the officials said.

Obviously it’s pretty scary to think that Hernandez may have murdered two people last year, played an entire NFL season and potentially killed another guy just a few weeks ago. I sounds like all this may be just the tip of the iceberg.

TMZ also uncovered a photo taken by Hernandez back in 2009 posing with a gun. There was also this other picture of Hernandez flashing what could be gang signs.
