Jerry Jones said their would be changes and so far he’s live up to his word.

Tuesday evening Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reported that the Cowboys have fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan after two seasons with the team. This also comes after Jones believing that the team has lost it’s grasp on the fundamentals which in a defensive sense you would think begin somewhere with tackling.

Before being fired by the Browns back in 2011, Ryan previously worked with the Raiders, Patriots, and Cardinals. Floria points out that it’s possible that the Cowboys will replace Ryan with Mike Pettine while Rob joining up with his brother in New York could be possible but at this point unlikely. Rex didn’t hire Rob before when he was available while reports seem to indicate that Rex will hire Dennis Thurman as his new defensive coordinator.

Too bad though Jerry Jones won’t fire himself… that seems to be the real problem.
